1% Grant Process

Apply

  1. Make sure you qualify for 1% funding
  2. Pick the right grant application for your project
    1. Land Conservation (fee-simple land purchases, conservation easements, etc…)
    2. Stewardship Projects (backcountry clean-up, trail improvements, education, etc…)
  3. Review the grant application and put together all the necessary materials
  4. Apply anytime throughout the year, we offer a rolling grant cycle
  5. Email all materials to director@1percentforopenspace.org
  6. Wait for a reply
  7. Present to the Board of Directors of 1% for Open Space about the project for which you are requesting funding
  8. Follow up with a grant report at the end of the year.
  9. Support 1% for Open Space by shopping at our partnering businesses

Stewardship Report

Land Conservation grant reporting consists of end of year annual check-ins to account for any changes made to the Funding Agreement. Funding Agreements are established during the grant process.

Mission - 1% for Open Space raises funds to support the conservation & stewardship of our open spaces in the Gunnison Valley. Vision - 1% for Open Space is a financial catalyst to preserve and protect the environmental integrity and landscapes of the Gunnison Valley for the benefit of present and future generations.
